There are plenty of non-essential items you can buy online and some of them will cost you a pretty penny.
For instance, did you know you can buy a pavé crystal chair bag for £800?
It’s a tiny folding chair, encrusted with crystals, hung on a long chain and you can’t fit anything inside of it.
The ‘bag’, designed by AREA, has been up for sale on a number of sites, including FarFetch where it costs £815.
One social media user recently came across the bizarre item on the Nordstrom website and decided to browse the product reviews – and they didn’t disappoint.
Lexi Brown shared a screenshot of the crystal chair and a hilarious review in a post on Twitter.
She wrote: “A hobby of mine is finding ridiculous items for sale at Nordstrom’s. This might be my best find yet.”
Alongside this, she uploaded screenshots of two reviews – with one shopper claiming they used the chair to hold their dipping sauces, or as a seat for “tiny children”.
The second review was even more entertaining though, with a woman claiming she’d used her ex-husband’s credit card to purchase the pricey bag for all of her friends.
Giving the bag five stars, the review read: “Worth every penny.
“I bought these for party favours to give to my girlfriends at my divorce party.
“I charged them to the same credit card my husband used to pay for gifts for his mistress. Definitely worth it.”
Lexi’s tweet has since gone viral, being liked over 168,000 times and garnering more than 18,000 retweets.
Many people were baffled by the purpose of the chair bag.
One person wrote: “WHY WOULD YOU CARRY IT WITHOUT STRAPS?!”
Another said: “The reviews are definitely entertaining. Lol.”
A third asked: “I — wh — what is it FOR?
“Sometimes I feel like I have come to terms with being poor and then I see stuff like this and I — Do I fail to grasp the value because I’m poor? or is there no value because I’m poor?”
